TREK DESCRIPTION

Nepal, a land of diversity and breathtaking landscapes, is home to the world’s highest peak – Mount Everest (8,848m), also known as Sagarmatha (Mother Goddess of the Earth). This trek offers encounters with the fascinating Sherpa people, their lifestyle, and magical Himalayan vistas. The climb to Kala Patthar (5,545m) provides unforgettable views of Everest – from base camp all the way to its summit.

This challenging trek requires good physical condition, but rewards with spectacular views and cultural immersion in the Khumbu region. Through valleys, rhododendron forests, and glacial rivers, you’ll witness beauty that attracts trekkers worldwide.

ITINERARY

Day 01: KATHMANDU. Arrival at Kathmandu airport. Transfer to hotel. City tour and trek preparation. Overnight.

Day 02: KATHMANDU – PHAGDING. Breakfast. Transfer to Manthali Airport. Flight to Lukla (2,804m). Trek to Phagding village (2,600m) along Dudh Koshi River. Overnight in lodge.

Day 03: PHAGDING – NAMCHE BAZAR. Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m). Enter Sagarmatha National Park. Explore the vibrant Sherpa capital. Overnight.

Day 04: NAMCHE BAZAR (ACCLIMATIZATION). Acclimatization hike to Everest View Hotel (3,880m). Panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Afternoon free in Namche. Overnight.

Day 05: NAMCHE – TENGBOCHE. Trek through rhododendron forests to Tengboche Monastery (3,867m). Attend evening prayers. Overnight.

Day 06: TENGBOCHE – PANGBOCHE. Descend to Deboche, then climb to Pangboche (3,985m). Visit the oldest monastery in Khumbu. Overnight.

Day 07: PANGBOCHE – DINGBOCHE. Trek to Dingboche (4,410m) with Ama Dablam views. Overnight.

Day 08: DINGBOCHE (ACCLIMATIZATION). Hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m) for acclimatization. Stunning mountain views. Overnight.

Day 09: DINGBOCHE – LOBUCHE. Trek to Lobuche (4,940m) via memorials for Everest climbers. Overnight.

Day 10: LOBUCHE – GORAK SHEP – EVEREST BASE CAMP. Morning trek to Gorak Shep (5,164m). Afternoon hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364m). Return to Gorak Shep. Overnight.

Day 11: GORAK SHEP – KALA PATTHAR – PHERICHE. Sunrise climb to Kala Patthar (5,545m) for iconic Everest views. Descend to Pheriche (4,371m). Overnight.

Day 12: PHERICHE – NAMCHE. Long descent through Imja Valley to Namche Bazaar. Overnight.

Day 13: NAMCHE – LUKLA. Final trekking day to Lukla. Celebrate with your team. Overnight.

Day 14: LUKLA – KATHMANDU. Morning flight to Manthali, transfer to Kathmandu. Free afternoon. Farewell dinner. Overnight.

Day 15: KATHMANDU. Free day for sightseeing and souvenir shopping in Thamel. Optional Bhaktapur/Patan tours. Overnight.

Day 16: KATHMANDU DEPARTURE. Transfer to airport for onward journey.

Total trek cost: 1,690 EUR

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Applicants must submit climbing resume, insurance and passport scan. Participants should be capable of hiking 15-20km with 1,000m elevation gain and maintain regular aerobic exercise.

Registration deadline:

  • No later than 90 days before departure.

Payment terms:

  • 10% deposit upon registration
  • 40% of total 60 days before departure
  • 50% of total 30 days before departure

Cancellation policy (by participant):

  • Cancellation ≥60 days before departure – 100% refund.
  • Cancellation 30-59 days before departure – 50% refund.
  • Cancellation ≤29 days before departure – no refund.

Cancellation by organizer:

If canceled due to insufficient participants, notice will be given 45 days prior. Full refund.

Additional info: EST has continuously organized this trek since 2001. Itinerary may change due to floods, earthquakes, or safety considerations.
