ADVENTURE DESCRIPTION
South America and the Andes represent an entirely new world, offering remarkable diversity even for the most experienced adventurers. Countless lakes, volcanoes, and high mountain peaks are complemented by rich historical heritage and the warm smiles of local hosts. On this tour, over the course of approximately fifteen days, you will experience so much that it will undoubtedly energize you for the entire year and inspire a strong desire to return to this extraordinary region. We will explore stunning mountains as well as the capital cities of Colombia and Ecuador.
We will constantly be at elevations above 3,000 meters, making these treks physically demanding and suitable for participants with good hiking fitness. However, the sense of achievement and enjoyment you will experience is truly priceless. During the trek, you will have the opportunity to summit Pasochoa (4,200 m) and the volcanoes Pichincha (4,784 m) and Cotopaxi (5,897 m) in Ecuador, as well as visit the most attractive and iconic locations in the country.
ADVENTURE ITINERARY
Day 01: BOGOTA. Arrival in Bogota. Transfer to hotel. Overnight.
Day 02: BOGOTA. After breakfast, tour of the historic district, museums, botanical gardens and Monserrate Monastery. Return to hotel. Overnight.
Day 03: BOGOTA – QUITO. After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Quito (1h 30min). Arrival in Quito, hotel transfer and city tour. Overnight.
Day 04: QUITO – PASOCHOA. After breakfast, transfer to volcano base for acclimatization hike to Pasochoa summit (4,200m). Return to hotel. Overnight.
Day 05: QUITO – PICHINCHA. After breakfast, transfer to gondola and ride to 3,947m (2.5km length). Trek to Pichincha Volcano summit (4,784m). Return by gondola and transfer to Quito hotel. Overnight.
Day 06: QUITO. Breakfast. Free day to rest and explore Ecuador’s capital. Overnight.
Day 07: QUITO – COTOPAXI. After breakfast, transfer to mountain hut below Cotopaxi summit. Includes all transfers, full-board accommodation at hut, technical equipment and guide (1 per 2 members). Overnight at hut.
Day 08: COTOPAXI – QUITO. Midnight departure for summit attempt on Cotopaxi (5,897m). After return to hut, lunch and transfer to parking, then back to Quito hotel. Overnight.
Day 09: QUITO – QUILOTOA – BANOS. After breakfast, transfer to Quilotoa Lagoon. Crater lake tour, hike to viewpoints, visit craft workshops in Tigua and La Victoria. Transfer to Baños. Hotel check-in. Overnight.
Day 10: BANOS. Breakfast. Baños adventures include zip-lining, canyoning, rafting, hiking and famous La Casa del Arbol swing. Visit Machachi town and Devil’s Cauldron waterfall. Overnight.
Day 11: BANOS. Breakfast. Continue Baños adventures. Overnight.
Day 12: BANOS – QUITO. Breakfast. Transfer from Baños to Quito. Free afternoon for souvenir shopping. Overnight.
Day 13: QUITO – BOGOTA. Breakfast. City tour, afternoon transfer to airport for Quito-Bogota flight. Arrival in Bogota. Overnight.
Day 14: BOGOTA. Breakfast. Free time for city exploration and shopping. Evening transfer to airport.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Applicants must submit climbing resume, insurance and passport scan. This adventure is open to those capable of hiking 15-20km with 1,000m elevation gain, who regularly practice aerobic sports (running, cycling etc.) and have winter climbing experience including crampon/ice axe use and rope team travel.

Payment terms:
- 10% deposit upon registration
- 40% due 60 days pre-departure
- 50% due 30 days pre-departure
Cancellation policy (participant):
- >60 days: 100% refund
- 30-59 days: 50% refund
- <29 days: No refund
Cancellation by organizer:
If canceled due to insufficient participants, notice will be given 45 days prior. Full refund.
