In this meticulously crafted tour, you are bound to experience the extremes of both adrenaline and hedonism, all whilst learning about the history, culture and the way of life of these lands.

Our adventure will take us across Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina; through mountains, rivers, hidden places and ancient cities.

Day 1
  • Arrival in Belgrade
  • Transfer to Valjevo

Arrival in Belgrade during the evening hours. Transfer and accommodation in Valjevo, a charming town hidden in its magical forests and surrounding mountains. This place marks the beginning of our adventure!

Day 2

After a traditional Serbian breakfast, we will proceed towards the canyon harbouring Serbia’s purest waters, the Gradac River Canyon. Laced with numerous bridges, hidden paths and groves, we will explore its many secrets under the shade of centuries old trees.

Following this trek, which should take us about 4 hours to complete, we will be provided with some respite in an ethnic complex found right by the river Gradac, where we will also have lunch. From there, we will also visit the nearby monastery Lelic, tucked away on a nearby hill.

Our path will then take us to Nova Varos, from where we will continue our journey the following day.

The third day of our adventure will be devoted to the Uvac Special Nature Reserve, an area of spectacular beauty. Its most striking feature is the Uvac River Canyon, an artificial lake filling a tightly meandering limestone canyon with emerald green water. Views over the lake are incredible, and touring it by boat provides a totally different as well as gorgeous perspective of the surrounding lands, one which we will be able to experience.

The reserve is also home to a thriving population of the enormous Griffon Vultures. You’re almost guaranteed to see these majestic birds soaring overhead.

Following our boat ride, we will continue to explore around Uvac Lake, enjoying in its many vantage points offering stunning views.

Day 4

  • Tour of either Zabljak or one the nearby glacial lakes

On Monday we will find ourselves in the small town of Zabljak, from where we will then trek around the nearby Black Lake. Black Lake lies at the foot of Medjed, one of Durmitor’s numerous peaks, and is actually composed of two smaller lakes tied together, one distinctly larger than the other, called Big and Small Lake, respectively.

The depths of these lakes harbour numerous underwater passages, through which water flows into the rivers of Tara and Piva, representing a distinct natural phenomenon, a bifurcation of sorts. Black Lake, as well as the remaining glacial lakes in the vicinity of Durmitor, are collectively known as Eyes of the Mountain.

Following our walk around Black Lake we will be presented with an opportunity to visit one of the other nearby glacial lakes, but we could also simply lounge around and enjoy in the astonishing views offered by our accommodation in Zabljak.

Day 5

Today’s adventure will take us across numerous idyllic landscapes to Dobri Do, right at the foot of Prutaš. Prutaš is considered to be one of the most interesting peaks belonging to the Durmitor mountain range. One can climb it from various sides, but the one route leading from Dobri Do is generally recommended due to its abundance of beautiful sights, present throughout the entire ascent.

The overall tour takes about seven hours to complete, where we will cross 700 meters of elevated terrain in order to reach the top. From the peak itself one can experience unforgettable views of the nearby Škrčka Lakes, two of the eighteen glacial lakes which surround Durmitor.

The Tara River cuts through the Tara River Canyon, the longest canyon in Montenegro and Europe and second longest in the world after the Grand Canyon, being 78 kilometers long. The canyon is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is a part of the Durmitor National Park.

Armed with helmets and neoprene suits, here we will set out on an unforgettable rafting tour, an intense adrenaline experience which will fully engage every single fiber of your being.

After the conclusion of our rafting adventure we will proceed to Visegrad, a small town in Bosnia and Herzegovina renowned for its Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge, built under Ottoman rule, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site which was popularized by the Nobel Prize-winning author Ivo Andrić in his novel The Bridge on the Drina.

The Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge was built by the Ottoman architect and engineer Mimar Sinan for the Grand Vizier Sokollu Mehmed Pasha. Construction of the bridge took place between 1571 and 1577, still standing to this day.

A tourist site called Andrićgrad (Andrić Town), dedicated to the aforementioned writer, is located near the bridge, which we will also visit.

Day 7

  • Transfer to Tara
  • Tara trek
  • Tour of the ‘‘BB Klekovaca’’ distillery in Bajina Basta
  • Dinner

After a transfer to Mokra Gora, a village in the mountainous region of Zlatibor, we will have the opportunity to ride a traditional steam train on the ‘‘Sargan Eight’’ railway, originally constructed in 1925.

From there we will visit the ethno village Drvengrad (Wooden City), built by the famous Serbian film director Emir Kusturica, a two-time Palme d’Or winner.

From there our path will take us to the Tara National Park, home to the brown bear as well as the Picea omorika, a species of coniferous tree endemic to this region.

Following a light trek around the major viewpoints on Tara, as well a tour of the XIII-century monastery Raca, we will visit the renowned ‘‘BB Klekovaca’’ distillery, one of Serbia’s oldest producers of rakia, found in the nearby town of Bajina Basta.

Our last day will be devoted to Serbia’s capital, Belgrade. A city steeped in culture and tradition, situated right at the confluence of the rivers Sava and Danube, known for its impressive medieval fortress, Kalemegdan, overlooking the city.

Offering interesting activities during the day along with a round-the-clock nightlife, which we will have the opportunity to experience with a tour of its most famous sights, it is truly a bohemian paradise with its own, unique personality.

Here, you’ll have plenty of time for sightseeing and gift shopping, while enjoying the hustle and bustle of Serbia’s capital.

After we’ll celebrate the end of our tour, enjoying a night out.

This is the day we say our goodbyes and wish you a safe flight home.
