Kayaking and Bike Riding in Belgrade.
START & END DATE: This adventure is organized per request between June and September.
Three days of kayaking, bike riding and beer tasting in the capital of Serbia, Belgrade. Start your adventure on bike, where you’ll spend several hours pedaling through several key historical and tourist points of Belgrade. You’ll see Belgrade as a whole, all while riding on the river banks, and its authentic streets and roads. Next day will be spent on the big and wide Danube River, which provides perfect setting for a guided day of kayaking. In the evening, go through a pub tour, experiencing craft beers that Serbia has to offer. Nights will be spent at a modern, completely renovated hotel in Belgrade city center.
This tour is perfect for adventurous travelers who want to get outside and explore Serbia’s capital while also taking your first steps in kayaking slopes. No previous kayaking or biking experience needed.
Day 01: BELGRADE – KALEMEGDAN. Your guide will pick you up at Belgrade Airport and drive you to Usce, our starting point and a place where two rivers (Danube and Sava) meet.
During our ride to our starting location, you’ll have a lunch packet, so you don’t get hungry during our biking tour. We’ll get ready at our starting location – Usce, explaining a few details regarding moving as a group with a few safety precautions, and off we go. While pedaling, we’ll visit the old part of Zemun, Gardos tower, Museum of Yugoslav history, Kalemegdan fortress and its surrounding towers and, if we’re up for it, Ada Ciganlija (famously called “the sea of Belgrade”). The whole ride will be on flat roads, with minimal uphill or downhill sections.
After, you’ll check into your accommodation and enjoy a delicious, fresh dinner and prepare for our next adventurous day.
Day 02: BELGRADE – DANUBE KAYAKING. After breakfast, we pack and head for a short ride to the banks of the Danube River. After a short training and safety explanation from the instructor, we start our kayaking adventure.
In front of us, the Danube—wide and fast—all to ourselves. We’ll take a relaxed pace, gliding across the river’s surface, just enjoying our time on the water. We’ll take a break on the Danube’s biggest island to cool off, bathing in the river and exploring the island. After that, the river pulls us downstream, and our kayaking trip continues.
After over 22 kilometers of paddling, we land on a local beach, where we’ll change our clothes and enter our transport that awaits us. It will take us to one of many famous fish restaurants by the river, where we’ll enjoy their famous freshly prepared fish soup and other fish specialties.
No previous kayaking experience is necessary for you to enjoy this adventure, and our licensed instructors will offer you all the help you’ll need.
After our tour, we head to our accommodation where, in the evening, you’ll have an organized visit to several pubs to taste a variety of local beers, as a way of celebrating our successful adventure while getting a glimpse of Belgrade’s nightlife.
Day 03: BELGRADE DEPARTURE. Enjoy one last breakfast, and you’ll have a couple of hours of free time to enjoy gift shopping or just wandering through Belgrade’s historic center, until it’s time to head to the airport to catch your flight home.
Total cost: 490 EUR
