ADVENTURE DESCRIPTION

The Atlas Mountain Range offers an unforgettable experience for hiking enthusiasts and lovers of pristine nature, spanning Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. The adventure includes the ascent to the highest peak of North Africa – Toubkal (4,167m), a tour of the fascinating ancient cities of Morocco, and the discovery of their cultural landmarks.

You will be amazed by the atypical nature with numerous streams and spectacular waterfalls in the heart of North Africa. Especially intriguing is the village of Imlil, hidden among the walnut trees, where you will enjoy the peace and hospitality of the local population who speak Berber, Arabic, and French. A morning breakfast on the terrace with the aromas of local cuisine and a view of the starry sky will create unforgettable memories.

After conquering the summit of the High Atlas and touring Marrakech, the adventure ends on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in the famous port city of Mogador (Agadir), where beautiful beaches and relaxation await you.

ADVENTURE ITINERARY

Day 01: MARRAKECH – IMLIL. Meeting at the airport in Marrakech. Transfer from Marrakesh airport to Imlil (about 1 hour drive), a picturesque Berber village on the western side of the Atlas. Accommodation in a guesthouse. Overnight stay.

Day 02: IMLIL – TOUBKAL REFUGE. Breakfast. Hiking through the Mizane valley and passing through the village of Aremd. Break at the Sidi Shamarouch sanctuary. Continue the ascent to the Toubkal Refuge (3,206m). Accommodation. Dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 03: TOUBKAL REFUGE – Jebel Toubkal – TOUBKAL REFUGE. Wake up at 04:00. Breakfast. Ascent to Jebel Toubkal (4,167m), the highest peak in North Africa (approximately 4 hours of hiking). Return to the Toubkal Refuge. Dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 04: TOUBKAL REFUGE – IMLIL. Breakfast. Descent to Imlil. Rest and celebration of the ascent to the High Atlas. Dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 05: IMLIL – MARRAKESH. Breakfast. Transfer to Marrakesh. Check-in at the hotel. Sightseeing: Ali ben Youssef Medersa, The Koutoubia, and Bahia Palace. Free time to explore the bazaar. Dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 06: MARRAKESH. Breakfast. Day for visiting museums and cultural monuments in Marrakesh with a guide. Dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 07: MARRAKESH – ESSAOUIRA. Breakfast. Transfer to Essaouira, a city on the Atlantic Ocean coast. Check-in at the hotel. Visit to the fortress and bazaar. Opportunities for surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. Dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 08: ESSAOUIRA. Breakfast. Day for sightseeing in the city and free activities such as quad biking, camel and horse riding. Dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 09: ESSAOUIRA – MARRAKESH. Breakfast. Transfer to the Marrakesh airport for your flight home.

ADVENTURE COSTS

Total cost of the adventure: 900 EUR

The adventure organization includes:

  • All transfers by minibus between the airport and hotel in Morocco
  • Transfer between Marrakesh and Essaouira
  • Minibus transport from Marrakesh to Imlil and back
  • Accommodation in a 3* hotel in Marrakesh (double rooms, half board)
  • Accommodation in a 3* hotel in Essaouira (double rooms, bed and breakfast)
  • Accommodation in a guesthouse in Imlil (double and triple rooms, half board)
  • Accommodation in the Toubkal mountain hut (multi-bed rooms, full board)
  • Transfer of equipment by mule (Imlil – Toubkal hut – Imlil)
  • UIAA guide for trekking as per the program
  • Local guides for the ascent
  • Trekking permits and National Park fees

Note: The surcharge for 4* hotels is 250 EUR.

The adventure organization does not include:

  • Flight to Marrakesh
  • Insurance covering up to 5,000 meters
  • Visa for Morocco
  • Water, alcoholic, carbonated, and non-carbonated beverages
  • Individual visits to museums and other cultural and historical landmarks

Note: Other equipment and clothing can be left at the hotel in Imlil.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Applicants must submit climbing resume, insurance and passport scan. The adventure is open to individuals who are able to hike 15-20 km with an elevation gain of 1,000 meters and regularly practice an aerobic sport.

Application Conditions:

  • At least 90 days before the departure for the adventure.

Payment Conditions:

  • 10% of the total amount upon application for the adventure
  • 40% of the total amount 60 days before departure
  • 50% of the total amount 30 days before departure

In case of cancellation by the participant:

  • If the cancellation is 60 or more days before departure – 100% of the paid amount will be refunded.
  • If the cancellation is 30-59 days before departure – 50% of the paid amount will be refunded.
  • If the cancellation is 29 days or fewer before departure – no refund will be provided.

In case of cancellation by the organizer:

If canceled due to insufficient participants, notice will be given 45 days prior. Full refund.
