Day 1: DUBROVNIK – TJENTIŠTE.
Arrival in Dubrovnik airport followed by a 3.5-hour transfer to Tjentište in Sutjeska National Park. After a brief welcome, we’ll begin our adventure with a trek to peak Kuk in the beautiful surroundings of Mount Volujak. This area boasts peaks above 2,000 meters and 17 glacier lakes, making it perfect for hikers. The path leads through green hills and lakes to the summit. The region is home to one of the largest brown bear colonies in the Balkans and other wildlife. After several hours of trekking, we descend to our accommodation in Tjentište for dinner and rest.
Day 2: MAGLIĆ PEAK – TRNOVAČKO LAKE.
After breakfast, we embark on our first serious ascent to Maglić, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s highest peak at 2,386 meters. Our transport takes us to 1,700 meters where the challenging climb begins, with some exposed sections secured by steel cables. After reaching the summit (approximately 4 hours), we descend to the stunning Trnovačko Lake, the heart of Sutjeska National Park. A well-deserved break on its shores prepares us for the downhill walk through coniferous forests back to our accommodation in Tjentište, where we enjoy dinner made from local produce and reflect on our adventure.
Day 3: TARA RIVER RAFTING.
Following breakfast, we transfer to the Tara River (1 hour) for an unforgettable rafting experience through Europe’s longest canyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After gearing up with helmets and neoprene suits, we’ll navigate the thrilling rapids of this 78-kilometer-long canyon. Post-rafting, we’ll enjoy lunch on the riverbanks with free time to swim and relax before dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: ŽABLJAK – DURMITOR’S GLACIAL LAKES.
After breakfast, we transfer to Žabljak, Montenegro (3 hours) for a leisurely trek around Durmitor’s glacial lakes. We’ll explore Black Lake and Snake Lake, known collectively as the “Eyes of the Mountain” for their underwater passages that feed the Tara and Piva rivers. The afternoon offers time to relax and enjoy the stunning views from our Žabljak accommodation, preparing for tomorrow’s climb to Montenegro’s highest peak.
Day 5: BOBOTOV PEAK ASCENT.
Today’s challenge is climbing Durmitor’s highest peak, Bobotov Kuk at 2,522 meters. This spectacular ascent involves about 700 meters of elevation gain, with the final section secured by steel cables where our guides will assist.
