Start your adventure on bike, where you’ll spend several hours pedaling through several key historical and tourist points of Belgrade. You’ll see Belgrade as a whole, all while riding on the river banks, and its authentic streets and roads.

Next day will be spent on the big and wide Danube River, which provides perfect setting for a guided day of kayaking. In the evening, go through a pub tour, experiencing craft beers that Serbia has to offer. Nights will be spent at a modern, completely renovated hotel in Belgrade city center.

Itinerary

Day 1

Friday

Your guide will pick you up at Belgrade Airport and drive you to Usce, our starting point and a place where two rivers (Danube and Sava) meets.

During our ride to our starting location, you’ll have a lunch packet, so you don’t get hungry during our biking tour. We’ll get ready at our starting location – Usce, explaining a few details regarding moving as a group with a few safety precautions, and off we go. While pedaling we’ll visit the old part of Zemun, Gardos tower, Museum of Yugoslavia history, Kalemegdan fortress and its surrounding towers and, if were up for it, Ada Ciganlija (famously called “the sea of Belgrade”). Whole ride will be on flat roads, with minimal up or downhill.

After, you’ll check into your accommodation and enjoy a delicious, fresh dinner and prepare for our next adventurous day.

Day 2

Saturday

After breakfast, we pack and head for a short ride to banks of the Danube river. And after a short training and safety explanation from the instructor, we start our kayaking adventure.

In front of us, Danube, wide and fast, all to ourselves. We’ll take a relaxed pace, gliding throughout the river surface, just enjoying our time on the water. We’ll take a break on the Danube’s biggest island to cool off, bathing in the Danube and exploring the island. After that, the river pulls us downstream, and our kayaking trip continues.

After over 22 kilometers of pedaling, we land on a local beach, were we’ll change our clothes and enter our transport that awaits us. He’ll take us to one of many famous fish restaurants by the river, there we’ll enjoy their famous freshly prepared fish soup and other fish specialties.

No previous kayaking experience is necessary for you to enjoy this adventure, and our licensed instructors will offer you all the help you’ll need.

After our finished tour, we head to our accommodation where, in the evening, you’ll have an organized visit to several pubs to taste a variety of local beers, as a way of celebrating our successful adventure while showing a glimpse of Belgrade’s night life.

Day 3

Sunday

Enjoy one last breakfast, and you’ll have a couple of hours of free time to enjoy gift shopping or just wandering our Belgrade’s historic center, until it’s time to head to the airport to catch your flight home.

What’s the kayaking like?
The kayaking is a relaxed, scenic 25 km paddle downstream, in the one of the cleanest river in Europe. It will take around 4-5 hours on predominantly calm water, with a few fun rapids. You will be in stable, two-person kayaks. Large enough to bring additional equipment and big enough to feel comfortable. You do not need  any previous knowledge about kayaking.

Can I book on my own?
Sure can! A lot of people do, it’s a great way to meet like-minded people.

How big will the group be?
This trip will run with a minimum of 4 people, and a maximum of 16. Please note, if there are not 4 people booked the trip may be rearranged or cancelled.

What skills/experience/fitness do I need?
A basic level of fitness is required for all activities. You need to be able to handle approx. 3 – 4 hours of activity per day. But don’t worry, your guide will be with you at all times and help you if needed, to complete your adventure securely and safely

You do not need any kayaking or climbing experience. Your guide will give you full instructions and a safety briefing at the start. Also, be advised that the water can get chilly on the river, but you will be provided with wet-suits to keep you warm.

What’s the weather like?
Summer and early autumn are the best periods to visit the area. In summer the average temperature is around 25 – 28 °C, and a little colder in the mountains in the evening. Autumn is slightly chillier, but still really pleasant, and with the added bonus of stunning fall colors.

What’s the food like?
All food is local, freshly cooked, hearty mountain meals. These include domestic cheese and other local milk products, meat, fish, local fruit, and fresh vegetables. Drinks are not included.

Can my dietary requirements be cater to?
Absolutely! Just let us know at booking.

What do I need to bring with me?
All specialized equipment will be provided (kayak, paddle, safety west, short neoprene suit and neoprene socks, ropes, harnesses, helmets…). For the rest of your trip, we recommend you bring:

  • Hiking shoes
  • Sandals
  • Hiking pants
  • swimming suit, sunglass and a towel, hat (for the summer)
  • Rain jacket
  • T-shirts
  • Shorts
  • Clothes in layers – for hot and cold parts of the night
  • Some pocket money
  • Some rucksack

What flights should I book?

Start point?
You will be met at the Belgrade airport on Friday. Your transfer will meet all flights scheduled to land by 15:00 or earlier. Your host will be in touch before the trip to finalize all details.

Finish point?
Your tour will end at Belgrade airport on Sunday. You are free to book any flight that departs after 12:00 am.

Getting there and away?
Belgrade Airport (BEG) is served by regular, low cost flights. You can get any flights that suit you, but make sure they fit the times above to take advantage of the included transfers. We will contact you before you leave to check your arrival and departure plans.

How do I meet the transfer?
At your arrival, the transfer will be holding a sign with the name of the tour. We’ll give you all extra details before travelling.

Important notes:

This itinerary and the duration of the activities are subject to change due to group abilities and preferences, weather conditions and forecasts, special events, etc.

We can’t guarantee availability of twin rooms for the duration of the tour. All rooms will, in most cases, be double, or more. Or single upon request.

In a highly unlikely case of insufficient number of people accommodated in one of our selected hotels, dinner will be served on a basis of a predetermined menu of 2 or 3 meals.
